The 2023 Kona Libre CR/DL is a dedicated gravel machine designed to bridge the gap between a high-performance road bike and an adventure-ready mountain bike. Kona, a brand born in the Pacific Northwest in 1988, has infused the Libre with their signature "adventure-first" geometry, featuring a taller head tube and a slightly more upright stance to reduce fatigue during multi-day bikepacking trips or grueling gravel races. The "CR/DL" designation represents the top-tier carbon layup in the Libre family, utilizing Kona Race Light Carbon for an incredibly responsive and lightweight ride.

The drivetrain is powered by the flagship Shimano GRX 810 series, specifically designed for gravel with a clutch-equipped rear derailleur to prevent chain slap on rough terrain. This build is exceptionally versatile, featuring a factory TranzX dropper post that allows the rider to lower their center of gravity instantly for technical descents. The cockpit is premium, upgraded with Easton EC70 carbon flared bars and an EA90 stem, which together provide a stiff but vibration-dampening interface for the rider.

Rolling on high-volume WTB Riddler 45c tires and Easton EA70AX wheels, the Libre offers massive traction and a "cloud-like" ride quality over loose gravel and dirt.
